Abstract
PURPOSE: A propylene-ethylene block copolymer is incorporated with synthetic rubber, polyolefin, etc., and a foaming agent and then foamed, thus giving foamed polypropylene with high extent of foaming, and high thermally insulating and mechanical properties.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 95W50wt% of propylene-ethylene block copolymer of 0.1W 10, preferably 0.1W4.0 melt index and 1W20, preferably 1W15% ethylene content, (B) 5W50wt% of synthetic rubber as (EPR containing 10W60wt% of ethylene component) and an loefinic resin as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, both or ether one, are mixed with (C) 0.1W30 parts, per 100 parts of (A) + (B), of a foaming agent as a hydrazide derivative, heated and foamed in an extruder or the like to give said foamed polypropylene.
