Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable good developing to be performed even when the developer having high electric resistance is used by disposing a conductor on the surface of a stationary sleeve opposing to an electrostatic latent image holder in proximity thereto and grounding said conductor.
CONSTITUTION: A conductor 7 constituted by an aluminium foil or the like is bonded in strip form on the surface of a sleeve 3' opposing to a photosensitive drum 1 in proximity thereto and is at the same time grounded and therefore during the time when the developer 5 is conveyed on the insulated sleeve 3 surface and arrives at the neighborhood of the conductor 7 the insulated sleeve 3' surface has relatively large friction resistance and this causes the developer 5 to perform good rotation motion, thus its undesirable coagulation on the sleeve 3' surface may be prevented. On the other hand, even when the developer 5 having high electric resistance is used, the residual charges which the electrostatic latent images adsorbed with the developer 5 possess become easier to leak through the developer layer existing between the photosensitive drum 1 and conductor as well as the conductor 7, near the conductor 7.
