Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the blast furnace possible to be operated under the accelerated reducing reaction and the improved productivity, by preheating the feed stocks for the blast furnace in order to charge them at hot condition. CONSTITUTION:The feed stocks for iron manufacture, like as the pellet-like ores, the sintered ores, etc., to be charged into the blast furnace, are preheated before charging. The preheating temperature is desirable to be higher than 150 deg.C and lower than 800 deg.C by reason of handling at conveying and charging. Hereby, the thermal shock to be given to the charged material in the furnace is effectively moderated, so that the powdering of charged material owing to the thermal shock, and resulting increase of draft resistance through the furnace, etc., can be prevented;in addition to this advantage, the sensible heat and latent heat of the top exhaust gas are heightened so as to be utilizable on the outside of the furnace as the effective heat source.
