Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate completely the peak shift which affects the linear recording density increment by giving a shift by a fixed amount to the pulse in the specified pattern prior to writing and then providing the waveform equalization circuit to the reading output side of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:For waveform 11 converted from the binary digital information through the FM modulation system or the like, the specified pulse is shifted in the necessary amount at compensation circuit 12 and according to the information pattern. Pulse 13 received compensation before writing drives head driving circuit 14 to record the data linearly on the magnetic medium. Head read signal 21 is amplified via low-noise preamplifier 22 and then led to equalization circuit 23. The output of circuit 23 is sent to demodulation circuit 24 to be demodulated to binary digital information 25. As the shift compensation for the recording position at the writing time is applied together with the compensation for the waveform interference at the reading time, the peak shift can be avoided completely.
