Abstract
PURPOSE: A transfer sheet which is excellent in thermal transfer property and comprises a substrate sheet formed thereon with a pattern consisting of a colorant of specified composition and an alkali agent.
CONSTITUTION: On a substrate sheet such as cellophane and heat-resistant synthetic resin film, there is formed a desired pattern by use of an ink or paint composition including one molar equivalent of a colorant (e.g. 3,3'-diethyloxachiacyanine iodide, Malachite Green) which is relatively free from fusion, evaporation, sublimation, and the like due to heat and has relatively small tendency of thermal transfer onto other substrate, 0.1 to 20 molar equivalent of an alkali agent (e.g. NaOH, dimethyl formamide) which will enhance the thermal transfer property of the colorant, and a binder (e.g. methyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol).
