PURPOSE:To facilitate use of piston ring with superior seal effect, by constructing piston with upper member and side member, and by providing channel for ring at junction of two members. CONSTITUTION:Form upper member 1 by integrating disc portion 2 that is top of piston and cylinder portion 2 which has less diamter than and is coaxial with disc portion 2. Insert hollow side member 4 of the same diameter as disc portion 2, around cylinder portion 3 and put is piston pin 5 through both members 1 and 4 to combine them. Then, channel for ring 6 appropriate for from of ring is formed by contact faces 2a, 4a of both members 1, 4 where, after combination of both members, piston ring is inserted.
