Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a device to detect the position of a moving body at low cost, by providing two sets of conductive pairs along the path of a moving body, with each set provided with intersections at fixed pitches in such a manner that the pitches of one set differ from those of the other by 1/2 pitch. CONSTITUTION:Two conductors are intersected at fixed pitches and thereby two sets of conductive pairs 21 and 22 are formed. These conductive pairs are placed along the path of a moving body in such a manner that intersections 24 of conductive pair 22 come to the midpoints between intersections 23 of conductive pair 21. When a moving body is at address ''0'', the signals received by a control device from two sets of conductive pairs 21 and 22 are in phase, and when it is at address ''1'', they are in phase. This is repeated. By counting this, the position of a moving body is detected.
