Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a copolymer of excellent water- and oil-repellency and high durability, rich in stability as an emulsified dispersion, by synthesizing from a fluoroalkyl-contg. polymerizable compound, a specific compound, and another polymerizable compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective copolymer can be obtained by copolymerization among A) ≥40wt% of a fluoroalkyl-contg. polymerizable compound, B) 0.5W 5wt% of a compound of formula (R' and R2 are each H or methyl; n is 4W40), and C) 10W60wt% of a fluoroalkyl-free polymerizable compound such as stearyl (meth)acrylate in the presence of an initiator such as benzoyl peroxide, azobisbutylonitrile, in an aqueous medium containing a surfactant.
