Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin tube free from shrinkage on softening, by making a synthetic resin tube pass in an electric or magnetic field with its external surface being exposed to the air and its internal space pressure being reduced to carry out low-temperature plasma treatment of the inner surface alone. CONSTITUTION:An electric or magnetic field is produced in cylindrical metal electrodes 4 and 5 from a source 10 through an output transformer 9. A synthetic resin tube 1 is then made to travel continuously in the electrodes 4 and 5, with the external surface of the tube being exposed to the air and its internal space being provided with a gas capable of producing a low-temperature plasma and the pressure being reduced to 0.1-30Torr, to carry out continuous plasma treatment between the electrodes 4 and 5 by the low-temperature plasma produced in the tube 1.
