Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a plane luminance generating system through which a high- speed display is possible for the plane picture accompanied by the luminance change with a simple circuit by generating the picture data based on the closed loop data.
CONSTITUTION: The closed loop data which gives the plane picture data to be displayed is written into picture memory 6, and then memory 6 is read out sequentially in a fixed direction to be scanned. In this case, the strand of the closed loop which is detected first among the scan lines is defined as the 1st intersection, and the strand to be detected next is defined as the 2nd intersection. And for two pieces of the scan line, the difference of the luminance between a pair of 1st intersections and 2nd intersections detected each. During the subsequent scanning, the luminance of the 1st intersection is defined as the original value, and the luminance data which increases or decreases continuously by the amount equivalent to the difference of luminance obtained above is generated. The luminance data is then written in sequence at the position in picture memory 4 which is prescribed by the scanning address then and then displayed via CRT monitor circuit 5.
