Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate the sea water into concentrated salty water and fresh water by the operation system in which the outlet pressure of permeated water at the front stage is made higher than the pressure of supply water at rear stage and the outlet pressure of permeated water at the rear stage is made higher than the stmospheric pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The high-pressure membrane module 2 and the low-pressure membrane module 4 are connected in series and the sea water already pretreated is sucked up and pressurized by the high-pressure pump 1 and forced into the membrane module 2 at the front high-pressure stage, whereby the sea water is separated by membrane into permeated water and concentrated salty water by means of reverse osmosis. The concentrated sea water is then discharged through the regulating valve 6, whereas the permeated water is kept its pressure by the back pressuer setter 3 and the reflux regulating valve 5 and forced into the membrane module 4 at the rear low-pressure stage. And, the permeated water perssure comes near the stmospheric pressure and becomes fresh water and the concentrated salty water is again desalined through the reflux regulating valve 5.
