Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate positional deviation of transfer member by the powerful electrostatic attracting force, by disposing the corona charger on the opposite side of the holding side of the transfer member of dielectric sheet, and locating the conductive roller or corona charger of the reverse polarity of said corona charger on the holding side.
CONSTITUTION: On the side opposite to the holding side of transfer sheet 22 of dielectric sheet 13, a corona discharger 15 is disposed, and on the transfer sheet 22 side in the position opposing thereto is disposed a conductive roller 17 in a manner to contact with the transfer sheet 22. By grounding the conductive roller 17, when a plus voltage, for instance, is applied to the corona discharger 15, the dielectric sheet 13 is positively charged, and, being induced by this, a minus charge is applied to the transfer sheet 22 from the conductive roller 17, so that an-electric field is created between the two. As a result, the transfer sheet 22 is attracted by the dielectric sheet 13. Thus, since the dielectric sheet 13 having a high volume resistance is charged, without charging the transfer sheet 22, the attracting characteristic is not greatly changed by humidity changes even if the material of the transfer sheet 22 is paper.
