Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a low-distortion speaker featuring the reduced size of the magnetic circuit and excellent linearity to the input signals by dividing the gap formed by the central and circular magnetic poles into two parts and then installing the voice coil between the two parts of the gap. CONSTITUTION:The concavities are provided to central and circular magnetic poles 1 and 2 at the opposing position of the center part, and voice coil 3 is installed between poles 1 and 2. Magnet 4, cone 5, dust cover 6, damper 7, frame 8 and others are formed as conventional. When the turn width of coil 3 and the heights of the poles forming the gap are referred as to lW and TPW respectively, the amplitude XW with which coil 3 can obtain the liner driving force features as XW= lW- TPW/2. As a result, this double-gap type speaker features better characteristics than the conventional long- or short-voice type speaker.
