Abstract

PURPOSE: A valve regulator by which regulation of valve aperture can be performed without damaging valve.
CONSTITUTION: The multi-cylinder two-head cam shaft type internal combustion engine is provided with the cam shafts 28 and 30 for inlet valve and exhaust valve, respectively, by which the inlet valve device 18 and the exhaust valve device 24 are operated, and also the cam shafts 28 and 30 have the timing gears 64 and 66 gearing with the timing chain 62 interlocked with the rotation of engine and the cam 60 for each cylinder. In this case, the valve regulator 70 consists of the base 74 fixed on the cylinder head 12 with the bolt 72, the single sprocket wheel 76 concurrently gearing with the gears 64 and 66 and is rotatably supported on the base 74, the gear 78 gearing with the wheel 76, and the ratchet handle 80 rotating the gear 78 in one direction, by which the aperture between valves can be regulated.
