Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the temperature compensation of light emission output of a light-emitting diode which is driven through a transistor, by saturating the base resistance of the transistor by a variable resistor. CONSTITUTION:The light-emitting diode 1, a current amplifying transistor TR1, resistors 30-32 connected to the collector, emitter and base of the transistor and a power transistor TR2 for driving the diode 1 are provided. The base of the transistor TR2 is coupled to the emitter of the transistor TR1 through a resistor 33. A capacitor 35 for quickening the action of the transistor TR2 is connected in parallel with the resistor 33. A resistor 34 for limiting a current, which is caused to flow through the diode, is coupled to the transistor TR2. Since the resistor 33 is a variable one, the temperature characteristics of the diode and a driving circuit can be compensated by each other to stabilize the light emission output.
