Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the reflection type photo distributor which is easy to manufacture and of high reliability by using a transparent body which has refractive index distributions producing the effect similar to the curved phase of a photo distributor comprising combining one-dimensional focusing type optical transmission bodies and a curved face in place of the curved face of said distributor.
CONSTITUTION: The end faces of an incident optical fiber 21 and the first to fourth exit optical fibers 22 thru 25 are installed to the first end face 11 of a one dimensional focusing type optical transmission body 1 which has refractive index distributions decreasing approximately proportionally to the square of distance from the center to the periphery only in the y direction. To the second end face 12 thereof is bonded and fixed a transparent body 3 which has refractive index distributions decreasing approximately proportionally to the square of the distances from the first to fourth faces 42 thru 45 parallel to the yz planes only in the x directions near these faces. Further, a reflecting film 60 is formed by dielectric multilayer films on the surface 13 opposite from the bonding and fixing surface of the transparent body 3.
