Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Oyster shells are calcined at 1600W2000°C in the absence of oxygen in an electric furnance furnished with a duct to exhaust the liberated gas. The remaining air is expeled with the generated CO2 gas. The calcined product is silver to light brown fine powder containing about 530 mg of Ca per 1 gram, and can be easily absorbed through the intestinal tract.
