Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize supernatant for industrial water and solids as an absorbent by adding salt such as alkali metal, etc. to the exhaust solution containing bivalent calcium from a limestone-gypsum process exhaust gas desulfurization unit to let calcium deposit as solids.
CONSTITUTION: The water containing bivalent calcium, such as overflow water of thickener of gypsum in the limestone-gypsum exhaust gas desulfurization unit, is admitted through line 17 into a calcium processing tank 130. Here, salt such as alkali metals or alkaline earth metals such as sodium carbonate is added through line 13 with through agitation. Then, bivalent calcium ion becomes calcium carbonate and deposits as solids. Next, this is transferred into a thickner 140, where it is subjected to solid-liquid separation. The separated supernatant is used for industrial water for cleaning of demisters, sump eliminators, etc. and solids as a limestone raw material.
