Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition capable of giving vulcanizates having improved heat resistance, prepared by incorporating a composition comprising a rubber-like polymer consisting mainly of an olefine terpolymer and a peroxide with a quinoline or its derivative.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt. of a rubber-like polymer consisting mainly of an olefin terpolymer consisting of ethylene, α-olefin, and a polyene monomer, e.g. dicyclopentadiene, having a non-conjugated double bond, is incorporated with (B) 0.1W20 parts by wt., preferably 1W10 parts by wt., of at least one type of peroxide selected from hydroperoxides, ketone peroxides, and hydrogen peroxide, and, if necessary, (C) 0.1W10 parts by wt. of a redox catalyst, e.g. cuprous chloride, and (D) 0.2W10 parts by wt., preferably 0.5W2 parts by wt., of quinoline, its derivative, or its polymer, and vulcanized at 0W70°C in air.
