Abstract

PURPOSE:A cosmetic pack that is divided into the first component containing polyvinyl alcohol and the second component containing montmorillonite, thus forming tough films. CONSTITUTION:The cosmetic pack is divided into two components, the first of an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol containing boric acid and the second of a strongly alkaline montmorillonite dispersion. The first is a sol and can be applied to the surface of skin. Then, the second is coated on the film of the first, whereby boric acid converts into borax, which gelates the polyvinyl alcohol. At the same time, the montmorillonite acts as gelating agent for polyvinyl alcohol, thus forming tough films.
