Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high sealing-up property and easily assure the reliability of a tube, by coating a bonding agent on the outside surface of a sleeve, inserting the sleeve into a cracked part of the tube, expanding the sleeve and the tube and hermetically welding an end of the sleeve to the inside of the tube.
CONSTITUTION: A compound 7 is uniformly coated on the outside surface of the sleeve 6 which is longer than the cracking part 5 of a heat transfer tube 2. The sleeve 6 is inserted into the tube 2 from its end hermetically welded to a tube plate 1. The sleeve 6 and the tube 2 are expanded so that the compound 7 is filled in the crack of the tube 2. At the same time, the end of the heat transfer tube 2 and the tube plate 1 are hermetically welded to each other. The high sealing-up property is thus obtained. The holding force for the tube is raised by its expansion. Because the cracked part of the heat transfer tube is reinforced by the sleeve, the reliability of the tube is easily assured.
