Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the operation of a temperature and humidity controller, by using semiconductor oxides to detect the temperature and humidity.
CONSTITUTION: A thermister is used as a temperature detector. An oxide such as SnO2, the resistance of which depends on the absolute humidity, is used as a humidity detector. A set tmperature is compared with the present one by a central processing unit 4. If the set temperature is lower than the present one, an output port 35 is opened and a relay 33 is turned on to close a contact 37 to energize a heater 39. If the set temperature is higher than the present one, the heater is deenergized to make the present temperature constant. The central processing unit 4 calculates the present relative humidity from the present absolute humidity and present temperature. If a set relative humidity is lower than the present one, another output 36 is opened and another relay 34 is turned on to close another contact 38 to drive a humidifier 40. If the set relative humidity is higher than the present one, the humidifier 40 is stopped to make the present relative humidity constant.
