Abstract
PURPOSE: To fluid mold heat resisting molds disintegrable by water after casting by using refractory material as a base material and adding a mixture of NaOH; H3PO4 as a binder.
CONSTITUTION: Refractory materials such as alumina, graphite, silica sand, zircon, magnesia etc. are used as the base material and a mixture of caustic soda, phosphoric acid and water is added as a binder to fluidity the material. When this is poured into the pattern, it solidifies with the lapse of time. Then, it is taken out from the pattern and dried to use as a mold for metal casting. The mold can be disintegrated easily after casting by pouring water and the casting can be taken out. The strength and heat resisting property can be improved furthermore by adding one of sodium aluminate and aluminium phosphate to above- mentioned mixture.
