Abstract

PURPOSE: The title coating material capable of preventing the attaching of animals and plants to ships or underwater structures, having great safety, comprising a small amount of a composition of a pyridine metal compound and a tributyltin compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A tributyltin compound, e.g. bis (tributyltin) oxide, is incorporated with (B) a compound of formula I: (M is metal or formula II; n is an integer 1W3), e.g. bis (2-pyridylthio-1-oxide) zinc, homogeneously.
EFFECT: The antifouling agents show the effect in an amount of 1/2W1/3 that of the individual ones, improving the safety 2W5 times on the same basis.
