Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A portion of the residual oil that is a by-product when phenol is synthesized through hydroperoxide and boils at 180W210°C is polymerized in the presence of activated clay or Friedel-Craft's catalyst as aluminum chloride, boron trifluoride, preferably in an amount of 0.3W3wt%, to give the objective low-viscocity extender.
EFFECT: Said extender increases the light and impact resistances and flexibility of the curing coated films.
