Abstract
PURPOSE: An immunosuppressive agent useful for suppressing the rejection in implanting organs or the skin, or treating rhumatism, comprising N-(4-benzoyloxyphenyl)-N2-benzoyl-D,L-glutamine as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: An agent comprising N-(4-benzoyloxyphenyl)-N2-benzoyl-D,L- glutamine of formula I as an active constituent, in a dose of 1W100mg/kg.day for parenteral administration, e.g. intramuscular injection, or 5W500mg/kg.day for oral administration, e.g. capsules or tablets, and useful as an anti-inflammatory drug. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting N-phthalyl-D,L-glutamic acid anhydride with 4-hydroxyaniline to form a compound of formula III, which is reacted with hydrazine hydrate, and benzoylated.
