Abstract
PURPOSE: To partially expanding the diameter of a pile so as to increase the support strength by providing the tip end of an earth auger with expanding blades openable and closable according to the soil resistance and ensuring that a solidifying agent can be fed into the ground through a hollow shaft.
CONSTITUTION: The ground is excavated to a predetermined depth while rotating an earth auger. A solidifying agent such as cenent milk is fed through the hollow shaft 6 of the earth auger and injected from an injection hole 10, and the earth auger is moved up and down while rotated reversely. Opened by the reverse rotation, expanding blades 9 of an expanding bit mix and stirr the solidfying agent and the soil and sand and form an expanded portion of a pile. Then the blades 9 are retreated by rotating the earth auger in the normal direction, and the earth auger is pulled up while the solidifying agent is being injected. A steel member is inserted into a mortar column while the latter is in a sufficiently soft condition, to complete the casting of the pile.
