Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent ground soiling of copying paper and damaging of the inside of the copying machine owing to flying of developer at the defining and prevent the degradation of the developer as well by performing defining of the ear height of brush by means of the roller rotatably disposed by maintaining a specified spacing from a sleeve.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic brush developing device consist of a sleeve 2 contained in a developing tank 1, a feed roll 8, a first agitating roll 19, a second agitating roll 26 and ear height difining roller 14. The developer forms the ears of magnetic brush on the outside peripheral surface of the sleeve 2 by the magnetic fields created by magnets 4a, 4b and develops the electrostatic latent images on a photosensitive drum 37. Here, the ears of the magnetic brush are defined by the spacing between the ear height defining roller 14 and sleeve 2, but the ear height defining roller 14 defines the ear height while being revolved in the arrow B direction by the contact friction force with the ears of the magnetic brush along with the revolution of the sleeve 2, i.e., it does not make strong contact with the ear tips and therefore the developer does not fly and the degradation of the developer may be suppressed as far as possible. The ears are evened by the roller 14 to become even density and conveying unevenness is eliminated as well.
