Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce noises in laser output without damaging the efficiency of coupling, and to stabilize luminescence, by positioning a long axis of a tilt, incident end surface of a photo-fiber on a junction surface of a laser, and by disposing a short axis in a vertical shape to the long axis.
CONSTITUTION: An axis 12 is tilted to a base line 11 so that rays on the base line 11 from a laser 1 be projected to an end surface 9, be refracted and advance in a fiber 4 along the axis 12. A luminous angle of the stripe type semiconductor laser 1 is small on a junction surface 8 and large in the direction vertical to the surface 8, and the laser has oval luminous distribution. When a long axis of an incident end surface is located on the surface 8, a short axis 14 is vertically arranged to the surface 8 and the fiber axis 12 is tilted to the base line 11 on the surface 8, an end surface of the fiber forms oval when viewing from the luminous surface side and agrees with the luminous distribution 10, and the efficiency of coupling is hardly lost. The end surface 9 inclines to the base line 11, the reflected rays of the end surface 9 do not return to a luminous surface 2, noises in output rays are little and luminous action is stable.
