Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the S/N ratio for the color signal component by giving the FM modulation to the video signal, memorizing the band component with the relative emphasis to the carrier component when the low carrier FM demodulation wave is obtained and then obtaining the signal featuring the same level as the FM modulation signal at the reading time.
CONSTITUTION: The composite color signal given from input terminal 11 is applied to FM oscillators 13 and 14 via pre-emphasis circuit 12 which emphasizes the higher harmonic band, and the low carrier modulation signal featuring the difference frequency between oscillators 13 and 14 as for the frequency deviation amount is generated at the output of mixer 15 which suplies the output of oscillators 13 and 14. The low carrier modulation signal is then applied to side band wave emphasis circuit 17 via LPF16 to give the relative emphasis to the band component against the carrier component for memorization of the band comopnent on recording medium 22. The signal recorded on medium 22 is converted into the electric signal through photo-electric converter 23, and the carrier component is emphasized through carrier emphasis cirucit 25. At the same time, the area where the frequency characteristics is impaired is compensated. Thus the original composite color signal is demodulated through frequency discriminator 30.
