Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a bar support device to be installed behind the head stock in a machine tool, which supports a bar revolving together with the spindle and prevents deflection of the bar.
CONSTITUTION: The base 6 is provided behind the head stock 1, extending long in the axial direction of spindle 2. Four bar-support-devices 7 are placed on the oversurface of the base 6 in a constant interval. On every bar support device 7, blocs 9A, 9B having deflection preventive rollers 8A, 8B which can move torawd the center of spindle and back, are equipped. A damper material such as rubber is interposed at the contact area between the base 6 and the device 7. Oscillation due to bend etc. of the bar W can be canceled by the bar support device's 7 own vibtating to a certain extent on the base 6.
