Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the foam plate for a bedding mattress without no recess at the position ofn the backside corresponding to the projection by deforming the foam plate located between two prallel shafts into the wave form in the certain direction with the aid of the rings mounted or the shafts alternatively to each other, cutting it in the direction parallel to the shafts axes and then cutting it again in the same manner but in the direction perpendicular to the above cutting direction. CONSTITUTION:Desired number of rings 2 and 2' are mounted on a pair of shafts 1 and 1' in parallel respectively at such positions that the upper and lower rings face to each other alternatively. A polyethylene foam plare 3 is fed into the gap between the shafts and then cut horizontally by means of a rotating cutter 4 under the state in deformed uneven shape to obtain a wave form polyethylene foam plate 5. Then, in the same manner thus obtained wave form plate is cut again but in the direction perpendicular to the above cutting direction to produce a foam plate 6 with the unevenness in the form of pyramid arraying in length and breadth. A bridged polyolefin foam is suitable for the foam plate used in this method in view of elastisity. Furthermore, it is preferable to obtain the foam plate with the thickness of 15- 60mm in total, 1/4 at the bottom of the wave form portion and 3/4 at the top thereof.
