Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate HCl away from the waste gas exhausted from a waste incinerator through contact reaction thereof with powdered lime introduced after once the gas is subjected to a cooling treatment down to the temperature range less than no hydrolysis is caused from CaCl2 to HCl with the introduction of the lime.
CONSTITUTION: Powdered lime is introduced into a incinerator 2 by a blower 12 with the gas in the secondary combustion chamber as a carrier gas and undergoes a contact reaction with a waste gas at about 700 to 100°C inside thereof. The waste gas exhausted from the incinerator 2 is cooled down below 580°C with a heat exchanger 3 and a cooling column 4. Then, powdered lime from a hopper 14 is blown into the column with the air as a carrier gas by a blower 13 together with unreacted powdered lime or collected dust ash from a cyclone 7 and a dust collector 8. A contact reaction is caused between the waste gas and the lime while being impinged against an impact plate in a mixing chamber 6. CaCl2 thus formed is trapped away from the cyclone 7 and the electric dust collector 8.
