Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the developing gap to be made constant with a simple constitution by providing a photoreceptor and a developing device respectively contactably or engageably with the positioning members provided to the side plates of the copying machine.
CONSTITUTION: A developing device 7 is rotatably supported by the right and left bearings 60, 61 on the side opposing to a photosensitive drum 5 and a developing sleeve 62 having magnet therein is provided. On the other hand, the photosensitive drum 5 is integrated by a cleaning device and is positioned by the positioning members 49 provided on the inner side of the side plates of the copying machine. When this developing device 7 is inserted along guide rails and when its pins and the pin receiving members of the side plates engage, the bearings 60-61 make contact to positioning members 49, 40 and the position relations of the developing sleeve 62 and positioning members 49 are maintained always constant without making fine adjustment, whereby the gap between the drum 5 and sleeve 62, i.e., a developing gap g, is maintained constant.
