Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve access precision by moving an access shaft provided with a head through a belt wound around a rotation shaft where a conversion error based upon the eccentric value and eccentric angle of a rotary drum and that based upon an error of the radius of the belt wound around the drum cancel each other.
CONSTITUTION: Access shaft 5 provided with a head through belt 14 wound around rotary drum 4 turning by stepping motor 2 moves to attain access to a magnetic disc, etc. When eccentric value (r) of this drum 4 and wind radius error ΔR of belt 14 are fixed bearing relation of π.ΔR=2r, the conversion error of shaft 5 based upon error ΔR and that based upon eccentric value (r) and its eccentric angle cancels each other, reducing the cummulative conversion error of shaft 5 to a minimum. Therefore, the precision of access to a magnetic disc, etc., through shaft 5 improves.
