Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove a runner from a synthetic resin fastener to which the runner and a gate have been adhered by use of a special-shaped runner guide member and a tape guide member.
CONSTITUTION: A runner guide member has a slanted fitting groove 4 for guiding a runner D in its back face, and the width between its side faces is equal to the dimension between the inside faces of fastener element C. A pair of tape guide members 5 have a tape guide groove 6. The guide members 3 and 6 are arranged in connection with the lower end of a pair of plate 1 which have a gap for fitting the runner D between their inside faces. An uncompleted synthetic resin fastener A comprises a pair of elements C formed at the inside edges of two parallel tapes B, with the runner D and a gate E adhered to between the elements C. The elements C and the gate E are separated only at the begining portion of the fastener A. The runner D is inserted in the groove 4 and the tapes B in the groove 6. The fastener A is drawn off downward. Immediately before the fastener A comes into the groove 6, the tapes B and the elements C are folded at a right angle, and the elements C is separated from the gate E and cut off.
