CONSTITUTION: Magnetic card 1 is inserted into lock body 2. Card 1 is a code unit that a traveling body carries with it and erasing and writing are possible. Magnetic read head 4 reads this code and code coincidence detection circuit 5 makes a comparison between the code and the contents of code memory register 7. When the both agree each other, unlocking operation part 6 unlocks the lock and at the same time, code generating circuit 8 generates a code different from that before the unlocking operation and stores it in register 7. Simultaneously, pull-out detector 9 is put to work to detect the extraction of card 1 from body 2 and while it is locked by locking operation part 10, the magnetic memory is erased by erasing head 11 before the contents of register 7 are written by write head 12. Therefore, a duplicated magnetic card is unusable after code modification is done once.
