Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate galling of dies as compared to conventional methods and form the moldings which do not require so much polishing after blanking by continuously blanking the cooled stainless steel plate by dies of 1W3% in clearance.
CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel plate 2 is cooled down to 0°C (preferably 0°C or over) to make the difference in temperature between the steel plate 2 and atmosphereic temperature more than 20°C and is continuously blanked by a die 1 of 1W 3% in clearance. Roundness of 0.1W0.3mm is beforehand given to the die tips 3 of the die 1. As a result, the cooled stainless steel plate 2 suppresses the temperature rise of the die 1 and prevents the production of fusion abrasion. The lubricating effect by the water drops produced around the die hole is most conspicuous when the temperature difference is 20°C. According to this method, shear droop and curving at the cut face after blanking are less and the product arruracy is improved.
