Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the prevention of deposition of particles on electrodes and the prevention of cohesion of particles and achieve long-term stability of dispersion system, reduction of applied voltage and improvement of contrast, etc. by coating one or both of dispersion particles and electrodes with insulation-type films.
CONSTITUTION: In the electrophoresis display device constituted by interposing solid-liquid dispersion system including particle groups that permit electrophoresis between two sheets of substrates respectively provided with electrodes on their mutually opposing faces, either or both of the electrodes and dispersion particles are coated by insulation type films, whereby the occurrence of cohesion, sedimentation, etc. of particles is prevented, display contrast is improved through easier deposition of charged particles on the electrode surfaces and applied voltage is required to be small.
