Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a pigment composition useful for the coloring of molding resins, monofilaments, etc. and free from deposition of the aggregated impurities onto the machine, by compounding a pigment and binder resin with magnesium salt of a specific aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and white carbon.
CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by the hot-mixing of (A) 5W40 parts by weight of pigments and 95W60 parts by weight of a binder resin (e.g. polyethylene, etc.), and (B) an additive component consisting of magnesium salt of a 12W18C linear aliphatic monocarboxylic acid (e.g. lauric acid, etc.) and white carbon (e.g. silicic anhydride, etc.) wherein the amount of the magnesium is pref. 0.1W10wt% and that of the white carbon is pref. 1W30wt% on the basis of the composition.
EFFECT: Free from aggregated impurities in the product which cause breaking in the drawing treatment. Particularly useful for copper phthalocyanine pigments and azo pigments.
