Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the formation of a coil and eliminate the decrease in the proof stress of the material of the coil, by shaping a hollow conductor, cutting off the shaped conductor, inserting the cut-off conductor parts into a slot and connecting the cut-off ends of the conductor parts to each other.
CONSTITUTION: The hollow conductor, which is to be cooled by water, is wound so that the coil with turns 3a∼3f is manufactured. The coil is shaped by a press or the like. The shaped coil is cut off at its turn ends 4a∼4e. The cut-off parts of the coil are inserted into the slots of a core 1. The cut-off ends 4a∼4e are connected to each other, thereby making a winding. Since the hollow conductor of high rigidity is shaped before it is inserted into the slots, the shaping process is simplified. Because the hollow conductor is not annealed, the proof stress of the conductor does not fall.
