PURPOSE: To provide the subject core which is improved in that the fitting of headers is facilitated and further any leakage accident is prevented.
CONSTITUTION: A core A is provided at respective corner parts with a pair of, left and right, spacers 3 directed in a longitudinal direction, a pair of, front and rear, spacers 3' and heat transmitting fins 4 ... in spaces between a plurality of plates provided with stepwise cutouts 2 provided with cutout surfaces 2a and 2b made parallel to side edges 1a and 1b directed in longitudinal and horizontal directions and clamping said corner parts. The outer side surfaces 3a and 3a' of spacers are alternatively provided at every step so that the outer side surfaces vertically match with the cutout surfaces 2a and 2b directed in the same direction as the spacers 3 and 3' in the cutouts 2 of the plates 1, whereby respective side edges 1a and 1b are projected by the lengths D1 and D2 of cutout surfaces 2b and 2a outwardly from the outer side surfaces 3a and 3a'. As a result, the assembly of parts using an assembly jig 7 and the fitting of headers B and C are facilitated.
