Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent vapor generated from a water tank from filling the flow passage of molten matters thereby to make it possible to prevent the molten matters from being cooled in the midway of flowing-down due to generated vapor, and from adhering to solidify to he vertical wall and causing clogging in the flow passage to generate.
CONSTITUTION: The melting furnace comprises a melting chamber A consisting of a storage and supply part 1 or matters to be treated and a combustion chamber S; a secondary combustion chamber B wherein melt-treated matters and high-temperature waste gas are caused to flow through downward opening 2 in the substantially central part of said chamber A, and the odorous components in the waste gas are burnt and deodorized to exhaust the same through the flue 3; and a water tank 4 for recovering slugs by subjecting flow-down matters to cooling treatment. Here, in the intermediate of the flowing-down passage R3 there are provided suction ports 16 associated with suction blowers 15 at a plurality of places in the peripheral direction to constitute a vapor exhaust device 17, and vapor generated in accordance with the supply of molten matters is exhausted from the upper space of the water tank 4 thereby to prevent the lowering of the atmospheric temperature in the flowing down passage R3.
