Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a heat pipe, which is formed with a hydrogen gas permeating section at a portion of a heat pipe constituting closed container continuous to or communicated to a hollow section of the container, so as to release hydrogen gas produced in the container through the hydrogen gas permeating section, whereby it is enabled to prevent degrading in the performance of heat pipe due to accumulation of hydrogen gas in the container. CONSTITUTION:Working medium such as liquid metal is sealed into a metal container 1 evacuated by removing non-condesable gases, and the working medium is impregnated in wick 2 fitted to the inner wall of container 1, so that heat received from one end portion of container 1 is transferred to the other end portion by the cycle of evaporation and condensation of working medium. In a heat pipe arranged as above, a hydrogen gas permeating section 6 is formed at one end face of container 1 on the side of condensing section 5. This section 6 is made, for instance, in the form of plate and located at a portion of container 1 adjacent to hollow section 7. With such an arrangement, hydrogen gas produced in container 1 can be released successively to the outside, so that degradation in the performance of heat pipe due to accumulation of hydrogen gas in container 1 can be prevented.
