Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an upright room air conditioner, in which a condenser is wound into an annular form in a plane substantially parallel to a partition plate and air inlet ports are formed almost over the entire periphery of the outdoor cabinet in the manner facing the condenser, whereby it is enabled to increase air flow rate by reducing drag to the air flow and to lower noises produced by an outdoor fan.
CONSTITUTION: By use of damper rubber 17a and seat 17, a compressor 5 is fixed to a partition plate 4 which is fixed to base 1 for dividing the casing into indoor section 2 and outdoor section 3. Upwardly of the compressor 5, fan motor 8 is fixed also to the partition plate 4 by use of seat 18. A condenser 6 shaped in an annular form is disposed in the casing in the manner surrounding the compressor 5 and fan motor 8 in a plate substantially parallel to the partition plate 4. Further, an evaporator 9 formed substantially in an inverted U-shape is fixed to the other side of partition plate 4 on the opposite side of condenser 6, and a drip receptacle 26 is disposed downwardly of the evaporator 9. The condenser 6 and evaporator 9 are both so shaped that they are recessed at portions facing the opposite sides and upper portion of indoor fan 28 and outdoor fan 29.
