Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent stereo channel separation by a simple adjustment even if the device is connected to a random receiver, by equipping this unit with a circuit which detects and displays the level of a pilot signal included in a sound multiplex signal. CONSTITUTION:A multiplex signal of a sound signal (main signal), 2nd sound signal (sub signal) information, control signal (pilot signal) information, etc., transmitted from the television receiver is inputted to the unit so as to fix the input level of the main signal to a fixed value by input level regulator 39 in case of a stereophonic broadcast, and the gain of each circuit is adjusted so as to equalize the level of the main signal to that of the sub signal. The level of a control signal outputted by band-pass filter 43 is detected by level detector 55 and displayed by indicator 57 while regulator 58 makes an adjustment so that its indication will agree with scale E, for example. This unit is connected to a random receiver and the indication of unit 57 is made to agree with scale E through the adjustment of unit 39, whereby improving the separation between the L signal and R signal appearing at output terminals 30 and 31.
