Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the promotion of cost down and of improvement of performance and strength, by using a unified material, consisting of the foamed metal layer and the porous fiber-state metal layer, for the electrode base unit.
CONSTITUTION: For the electrode base unit, is used a unified material, constructed by pressurizing or cementing by a bonding agent the foamed metal layer, preferably with a thickness of 0.6∼4mm and a porosity of 90∼98%, and the porous fiber- state metal layer, preferably with its thickness of 0.05∼1mm and a porosity of 30∼80%. In the case of such constitution, as the method of unifying both of the above described, it is preferable to unify after a filling of the acitve material into the foamed metal layer, for the case by the method of pressurization, and it is preferable to fill the active material after a unification of the both, for the case by the method of adhesion.
