Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a device for preventing air from leaking in an inert gas unit having a plurality of smoke sources to enable economic operation of an inert gas system in a tanker.
CONSTITUTION: A box-like or cylindrical water sealing unit 12 provided with a partition plate 1 from the top to opened bottom is assembled with a plurality of smoke sources, namely, a high temperature exhaust gas line 14 from a boiler and a high temperature exhaust gas line 15 from a diesel engine connected respectively to an inert gas unit 13. There are mounted at the sealing unit 12 a brine input line 18, a brine exhaust line 19 and a pressure detecting line 20 via water sealing U- shaped tubes 11. When the sealing unit 12 is used, for example, as a sealing unit, it detects the liquid level via a liquid level indicating control alarm unit 10 to thereby open a brine input valve 7 so as to thus introduce sea water into the unit 12 to raise its level to high level a to thereby seal completely the unit.
