Abstract

PURPOSE: To draw accurately a deck line on the outer surface of an outboard of a ship having a deck placed with an obstacle thereon without scratching the outboard by utilizing the transmission of radiant rays such as X-rays or the like.

CONSTITUTION: When a deck standard line 7 is transferred to the outer surface of the outboard 2 of a ship, the central height h of an X-ray projector 3 set on the deck 1 is measured first, and a standard mark 5 is drawn on the inner surface of the outboard 2 at the same height h from the upper surface of the deck 1 as the height h. Then, outside mark 6 is put on the outer surface of the outboard 2 in the length substantially equal to the length from the nearest frame 9 to the mark 5 from the frame 9. Thereafter, a film 4 is mounted on the outside of the outboard 2 to thus transmit the standard mark 5 via the projector 3 through the outboard 2 onto the film 4. When this film 4 is removed from the outboard 2 and developed to thereby simultaneously obtain the images 5', 6' of both the marks 5, 6, respective ly and to obtain the point lower by distance h from the image 5' to thus obtain the position of the deck line 7.
