Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a biaural signal which provides the same sense of listening as a dummy-head microphone sound pickup signal by applying a signal to a headphone through a two-system reverberation synthesizer cirxuit with certain characteristic conditions. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a signal line is branched to two systems A and B of two-system reverberation synthesizer circuit 5, whose outputs reach listener 7 through headphones 6a and 6b. Two systems A and B of this reverberation synthesizer circuit 5 are provided with circuits (a) to (d) obtained by combining attenuator 1 and delay circuit 2 and as to all combinations, the acoustic sense outside a head is assesed; and the reverberation time is equalized between two systems A and B to equalize power ratios of reverberation signals to direct sound signals, and also to equalize transmission frequency characteristics. Further, the inversion of the relation between lagging and leading of the phase or group delay time is repeated periodically attending upon an increase in frequency, thereby obtaining a biaural signal which provides the same sense of listening as a dummy head microphone sound pickup signal.
